How I get leadership wisdom these days

Last Updated: May 29, 2026By

For the past 30 years, I’ve developed certain practices and habits in my quest to grow and improve. I’ve kept up many of these habits all the way through.

Here are some of them:

  • Always have a book going – Listening to audiobooks allows me to increase my reading capacity tenfold.
  • Keep my eyes open – I’ve had many, many experiences that tested me, and each time I tried to learn new lessons.
  • Journaling – Writing out my private thoughts in detail has helped me process the most challenging times in my life and career.
  • Soak in Scripture – The Bible has been an amazing guidebook for my life.
  • Pray – Whether alone or in a group, I have found wisdom, encouragement, and miraculous outcomes when on my knees before the Lord.

Next week, I’ll have a few more thoughts on what helps me continue to develop as a Christian leader.

Growing with you,

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously
to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
